NewsAges 8 to 12Terms
Updated 20 October 2026. Also: News’s privacy notice.
The rules for using News by Sparks, in plain words.
Who it’s for
News is for children of about 8 to 12, set up by a parent or carer. The grown-up who sets it up agrees to these terms for their family.
The news
Stories are researched and written each day by an AI model, then checked by a second pass, as the privacy notice explains. They are explainers for children, not a full account of events, and they can contain mistakes. Please tell us about any at hello@sparksforkids.app.
Some stories are about hard news, written gently. A grown-up can choose, for each child, whether to show them.
Using it
You may use News for your family’s own reading, and at school with your class. Please don’t copy the stories to publish elsewhere.
News is free. We may change it, or stop it, and will say so in the app first where we can.
The law
These terms follow the law of England and Wales. Nothing in them takes away your rights as a consumer.
